2011/12 Framework for Excellence Learner Views Survey

What’s it all about?

What are your views of your learning experience at Brooksby Melton College? Now’s your chance to have your say – your views matter! This is part of a national survey and learners in every college and learning provider in England will be taking part.
The Learner Views survey starts in March and runs until 25th May 2012. You can express what you think about the quality of teaching and your satisfaction with your learning experience, the support you are given and how you are treated.

How do I take part?

It’s an online survey. Opportunity will be made for you to complete the survey during lessons or you can access it via Moodle at any time you have PC access or via an internet enabled device.
You can also access the survey directly at any time during the survey period by logging in at:

http://goo.gl/u4BuI

You will be asked for the following information:

  1. The College's Code number or UKPRN is: 10000952 (1, then 4 zeros,952).
  2. Your Student Code: this is the number you use as your network log in and which can also be found on your Student Identity Card. If you are not aware of your code - please check with your Course tutor first.
  3. Your First Name.
  4. Your Surname or family name.
  5. Your Date of birth (dd/mm/yy) [eg. 01/04/21].
  6. You will then be asked about the type of course you are studying.
  7. The multiple choice questions will then begin.

Following on from this there will be a number of questions specifically related to the courses you are studying this academic year. We will provide you with a desk slip with these details prior to your survey completion.

IMPORTANT: Public Transport

Consultation about Home-to-School Transport and Concessionary Travel for Older People and Disabled People

The Council needs to reduce its spending as part of the national effort to balance the public finances.  Because of the scale of the latest national changes and uncertainties, the Council is reviewing its budget plans.  It is therefore considering whether it should continue to fund those parts of its transport provision that are provided on a discretionary basis, and do not have to be provided by law. We invite your views as to whether we could make savings in this area.

The Council is running a public consultation from Wednesday 25 January to Monday 2 April about:

  • Assisted transport to and from school or college for post-16 students;
  • Assisted transport to and from school for students attending faith or voluntary-aided schools;
  • Transport currently provided to and from school for students not entitled to assistance with transport;
  • Home-to-school transport policy where schools move to academy status;
  • Home-to-school transport policy where a student changes address during GCSE studies;
  • The travel vouchers scheme for disabled people and older people living more than 800 metres from an hourly bus service;
  • Concessionary travel on community transport services;
  • Concessionary bus travel for disabled people before 9.30 am on Mondays to Fridays;
  • Concessionary bus travel for older people and disabled people after 11pm on Mondays to Fridays.
